Industry-Driven Cultivar Evaluation

PROJECT TITLE:    Industry-driven cultivar evaluation

This is project which is being managed “in-house” by SATI. Over many years, SATI has contributed towards the table grape breeding project at the ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij which have been evaluated on ARC experimental farms. After various negotiations with the ARC, SATI and the ARC came to an agreement which entitles SATI to the following:

• Screen the seedlings which are the outcome of the ARC table grape breeding programme for potentially successful table grape cultivars
• Screen the selected material for potential “winners”
• Transfer the potential “winners” to all production regions for further evaluation
